This short promotional film highlights the inspiring Hima approach, a traditional community-based conservation system that connects culture, nature, and peacebuilding. Rooted in centuries-old stewardship traditions across the Arab region, the Hima model demonstrates how local communities can protect biodiversity while preserving cultural heritage and fostering cooperation.

The film presents Lebanon’s experience led by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon, in collaboration with partners including IUCN Regional Office for West Asia and the BirdLife International partnership, showcasing how community-led conservation contributes to sustainable development, environmental protection, and social harmony.

Through powerful images and stories from the field, the video illustrates how nature conservation can become a pathway to dialogue, coexistence, and peace.
