Beirut – The President of the Ghadi Association and Chairman of the Media Group, as well as Founder and Publisher of the HimaEcoMedia platform, Fadi Ghanem, announced during a press conference the launch of the new environmental media platform HimaEcoMedia (en.himaecomedia.com), alongside the podcast “The Earthbound 30×30.” This initiative aims to strengthen specialized environmental journalism and amplify the voice of nature to a global audience.

In his remarks during the conference, Ghanem noted that the launch of this media initiative comes at a critical time marked by growing challenges facing both nature and humanity. Ongoing conflicts, escalating environmental crises, and climate change continue to threaten the future of the planet, he said, emphasizing that there is an urgent need for a responsible and credible media voice capable of keeping pace with these transformations and conveying scientific and environmental realities with professionalism and objectivity.

He explained that HimaEcoMedia, one of the first specialized environmental media platforms of its kind in Lebanon and the region, carries the slogan “A Voice for Nature and Humanity.” The platform represents a continuation of a long journey in environmental journalism, particularly through Ghadi News, which for more than two decades has consistently delivered environmental reporting with objectivity and responsibility, contributing to raising environmental awareness in Lebanon and across the Arab world.

Ghanem added that the launch of HimaEcoMedia marks a complementary step in this media mission by establishing a dedicated platform that follows major international environmental initiatives, most notably the Earthbound 30×30 initiative, which seeks to strengthen the protection of nature and ecosystems. The platform will also closely track global efforts to conserve biodiversity, particularly those led by international organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Addressing a question that some may raise about the need for a new platform alongside Ghadi News, Ghanem explained that the current stage requires more specialized media tools capable of bridging local experiences with global environmental programs. He stressed that HimaEcoMedia will operate alongside Ghadi News within an integrated vision, with the new platform focusing on international nature conservation initiatives and becoming part of the broader Hima family, inspired by the Hima concept as a pioneering Arab model of community-based natural resource management and conservation.

During the conference, Ghanem also announced the launch of the podcast “The Earthbound 30×30,” which will serve as a dialogue platform hosting environmental experts, decision-makers, researchers, and activists from around the world to discuss pressing environmental challenges and highlight sustainable solutions for protecting nature.

He further explained that this media initiative is being launched through the efforts of a specialized media team, with the support of the editors-in-chief of Ghadi News and Al-Thair, under the umbrella of the Ghadi Association, and in cooperation with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), in addition to Hima Magazine. The initiative also benefits from the participation of Mr. Assad Serhal, founder of the Hima system in Lebanon, alongside a network of international partners and experts.

Ghanem concluded by stressing that environmental journalism is no longer a luxury in a world facing unprecedented environmental challenges. Rather, it has become both a national and global responsibility and one of the most important tools for protecting nature and safeguarding the future of coming generations. He emphasized that HimaEcoMedia will strive to truly embody its mission as “A Voice for Nature and Humanity,” serving as a media platform that conveys truth, promotes hope, and reminds the world that protecting nature is, at its core, protecting life itself.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the media group’s mission with the highest standards of professionalism, contributing to the spread of environmental awareness, strengthening the culture of nature conservation, and supporting Lebanon’s path toward renewal and recovery.

At the conclusion of the conference, Ghanem expressed his gratitude to the technical and administrative teams, journalists, specialists, members of the Ghadi Association, and all partners who contributed to this achievement. He emphasized that this milestone would not have been possible without their dedication, commitment, and continuous support for environmental journalism and the shared mission of serving nature and humanity.
